The Group

Pathogens and parasites are everywhere in our environment. They interact with their hosts in a multitide of ways and affect each others abundance. Moreover, they evolve in response to their host's defense strategies. Studying infectious disease dynamics offers both an exciting path into fundamental questions basic science and the satisfacton of tackling diverse problems of applied relevance.

Theoretical Biology at ETH Zurich comprises several groups who interact closely on a daily basis. We study the evolutionary and ecological dynamics of infectious pathogens across different scales from the test tube to the spread in the host population using diverse approaches incuding computational modelling and in vitro experiments. Use our interactive tools below to learn more about our groups and our research.
