Open Positions

General Information

The Theoretical Biology Group consists of several units, that work on different topics, but operate in all daily things closely together. Currently these units are headed by Sebastian Bonhoeffer, Roland Regoes, Dominik Refardt and Frederic Guillaume. SB works on mathematical models of infectious diseases and on evolutionary theory. RR works on the population dynamics of infectious diseases and the immune response. DR works experimentally on bacteria/phage systems. FG works on evolutionary and quantitative genetics.

PhD and postdoc positions

We always welcome applications from skilled and motivated people for PhD and PostDoc positions. In all units new jobs become available at irregular intervals.

If you are interested in joining our group, then consider the following points:

The points above should not be regarded as a cookbook recipe. Simply send Sebastian Bonhoeffer, Roland Regoes, Dominik Refardt or Frederic Guillaume a mail, in which you include whatever information we need to see that you are a serious and interesting candidate.

Master's theses, internships, etc

If you are interested in joining our group for a diploma thesis or an internship please contact us (Sebastian Bonhoeffer, Roland Regoes, Dominik Refardt or Frederic Guillaume). As for PhD and postdoc candidates we would like to receive a short statement of who you are, what you have studied, and why you are interested in joining our group. As we do not have to sort out financing well in advance, we need not sort out things 6-12 month ahead of time. Nevertheless, the earlier you contact us the better.
